Since graduating from Texas State University with a Master's in Professional Counseling, I have gained over 15 years of experience in working with individuals and families with addiction issues. I have experience dealing with issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
My approach to counseling to be the person to help guide you on your journey and provide outside insight and observation. I used humor and laughter during session and believe it is an important tool. When not providing therapy, I am spending time with my daughter, family and 2 dogs either playing games or catching up on my shows. Using a mix of approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques, I help clients find what works best for them. My background includes experience in inpatient, residential, PHP, and IOP settings, and I always aim to create a judgment-free space where real change can happen. My approach is centered around utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). As a counselor, I have worked with clients who came in for trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, LGBTQIA+ related issues, gender, sexuality, and grief and loss. I have had considerable experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community. As a counselor, I believe it is important to provide a supportive space and guidance to help a client go from surviving life to living life.

My approach to therapy includes techniques from Collaborative Therapy, DBT, CBT, EMDR, and SFT. My goal is to work collaboratively with clients to help them grow and fulfill their ambitions, as well as provide a safe space for open expression.

Even though I have graduated, I am forever learning and researching areas of counseling for the benefit of the client. We go through life searching for some way to accept who we are, what's happened to us, what our purpose is...often we do not fully understand the root of our distress, just how it feels. Many of us weren’t shown how to process complex emotions or the accompanying psychic pain. We carry it until we finally say, "I've had enough" and reach out for help. Bringing awareness and vulnerability to therapy is when the magic happens, and guided my life's search for meaning, that has guided my work for over a decade. I'm a tiny Yorkie with a big heart, born in 2025, and already working hard to become a Certified Therapy Dog!  Right now, I'm in training (yep, I'm kind of a big deal in the making)- but don't worry, I'm already an expert at tail wags, making people smile and sneaking in cuddles during sessions. 

My job?  Helping humans feel comfy, calm and maybe crack a smile.  I love greeting clients, getting pets and playing during sessions- because healing is better with a little joy (& maybe a few puppy kisses).  Therapy is serious work- but I like to think I bring the pawsitive energy.  Can't wait to meet you!
